Who

The publisher is Miami Biz Guide, an Organization — not a named individual expert, licensed inspector, attorney, or insurance agent. There is no fabricated editorial board. Where a future page is reviewed by a real qualified person, that reviewer and their credentials will be named. Until then, Organization authorship is the truthful statement.

What the directory is

It is a compiled view of public and openly licensed business records for the City of Miami / Miami-Dade coverage our sources support. It is not an official registry, not a complete census of every active business, and not a ranking.

Where the data comes from

Listings are assembled from Overture Maps Places, Miami-Dade County local business tax open data, and internal use of Florida Division of Corporations fictitious-name records for matching. Attribution and licenses are on Data sources.

How listings are matched

Records that appear to describe the same business are resolved conservatively (name, address, phone, coordinates). Ambiguous matches are not forced together. Service-area businesses without a public storefront do not get a published street address.

How websites are verified — and what “verified” does not mean

A website is displayed only after an automated identity check indicates the site corresponds to the listed business. “Verified website” means that match succeeded. It does not mean we inspected the business, endorsed it, confirmed a license, confirmed hours, or confirmed that every page on the site is accurate.

How automated systems and AI are used

Software builds the directory, calculates aggregates, and applies indexability rules. AI-assisted tools may help organize editorial drafts and representative category images. Published factual claims on listings are limited to fields in the dataset. Editorial pages that state law or official process cite government sources and tell readers to confirm the current text. We do not generate unique adjectives per ZIP code to manufacture uniqueness, and we do not invent prices, reviews, or neighborhood popularity.

How editorial content is produced

Category pages combine live counts with hand-written hiring guidance. Cost, hurricane, condo, and insurance pages are written as decision support with visible citations. Original-data reports are generated from reusable functions over the current export so numbers update when the dataset updates — without changing the article’s publication date.

Each editorial asset has a real publishedAt and a contentModifiedAt that changes only after a material edit. A routine data refresh updates “Directory data as of…” only.

Indexability quality gate

Business pages need a real name, a locatable place, a way to contact the business, and a minimum corroboration score. Category × ZIP pages are generated at 10+ listings for visitors, but are indexed only at 15+ listings or when coverage rates differ enough from the category baseline to be a distinct local snapshot. Weak pages stay noindex,follow and out of the sitemap. Search and pagination are not indexed.

Corrections, removals, and claiming

Owners can request to claim a page, request a correction, or removal. Factual corrections are free. Owner-supplied photos, hours, and descriptions are not published until a person reviews them. Anti-spam rules include human review before any owner text or photo is published and owner-provided copy is noindex until moderation completes; spam or promotional claims are never published.

Limitations and refresh cadence

Public data is incomplete. Coverage is stronger in some ZIP codes than others (notably weaker in Wynwood/Edgewater and Coconut Grove). The dataset date (2026-08-26) is shown in the footer and on data panels. Between builds, businesses close, move, and change numbers.
